Overview:
Southern Integrated Solutions & Consulting (SISC) is looking for a full time Electrical Engineer with extensive experience and a profound understanding of electrical engineering. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and support of custom low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, including generator parallelling switchgear, control panels, and electrical enclosures. You’ll collaborate closely with production and purchasing teams to take projects from concept to completion, ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and meet customer specifications. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role requiring the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Senior Electrical Engineer is expected to possess a strong working knowledge of relevant industry standards and demonstrate the ability to independently deliver high-quality solutions that satisfy both customer and project requirements. In addition, this role will provide support to engineering management by contributing to project leadership, mentoring team members, and assisting with proposal development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical deliverables for Low and Medium voltage Motor Schematics, Distribution Panel Schedules, Switchgear and Motor Control Center design, One-lines, and Conduit and Cable Schedules, etc.
- Design and specify electrical equipment such as motors, breakers, relays, generators, substations, buses, starters, transformers, and other industrial electrical equipment (480V to 13.8KV)
- Performs power systems simulations and analyses, including load flow, short circuit, motor starting and reacceleration, arc flash, transient stability and relay coordination, utilizing SKM PTW Software application
- Specify components and verify proper circuit breaker selection, cable sizing, and load requirements
- Support startup assistance, and support of electrical systems troubleshooting and provide technical assistance during equipment fabrication
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and utilities to support project success
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 8+ years' experience in industrial or oil & gas power system design, construction and commissioning
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety standards and Area Electrical Classification standards (API, NFPA, NEC, and NETA)
- Problem solving / troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Ability to interpret and create wiring diagrams, schematics, and BOMs
- Demonstrates strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision, consistently delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines through self-motivation, initiative, and effective time management.
- Willing to travel in support of electrical equipment construction or repairs
- Strong technical skills (MS Office, Bluebeam, SKM PTW a plus)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN experience a plus)
Hard Skills:
- Extensive experience in electrical power engineering, with a strong focus on LV and MV systems.
- Deep understanding and practical application of industry codes and standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting wiring, fiber optics, and power design on-site.
- Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical engineering simulation software.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to manage and lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical oversight.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve complex electrical power challenges in collaboration with project teams and clients.
- Clear communication with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure alignment and resolution of technical issues.
- Ability to thoroughly review and approve critical engineering deliverables, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
