Electrical CAD Designer
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior CAD Designer with a strong background in electrical design to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed electrical drawings and schematics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role demands advanced proficiency in CAD software, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other designers.
Responsibilities:
CAD Design – create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software. Develop and maintain electrical design templates and libraries. Ensure all drawings and designs comply with relevant codes and standards
Electrical Design – Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop electrical system designs. Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and other data to create detailed designs. Assist in the selection of electrical components and materials
Project Coordination – Manage and prioritize multiple design projects to meet deadlines. Work closely with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives. Prepare and review design documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Quality Control – Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness. Implement best practices in CAD design and documentation. Participate in design review meetings and provide constructive feedback
Collaboration – Coordinate with other designers and engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other disciplines. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients as needed to clarify design requirements. Provide technical support and guidance to junior CAD designers
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CAD designer, with at least 3 years focused on electrical design. Proven track record of producing high-quality electrical drawings and schematics
Certification in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) - Preferred
Skills:
Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks)
Strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices
Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC)
